Michelle Novitsky (She/They), MHC-LP
Psychotherapist
Welcome to your therapy journey, or welcome back! Ever wonder “why is this happening now?”, or “how does my past connect to today?” Michelle uses psychodynamic therapy to help you look back and understand your present, revealing how past and unconscious experiences shape current patterns.
Michelle also incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Instead of fighting your mental health by constantly thinking “how do I stop this?”, ACT teaches you to work with what you’re experiencing through acceptance, self-compassion, and patience. It can be challenging but deeply rewarding.
As a queer therapist with her Master’s from Brooklyn College, Michelle treats anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, trauma, and low self-esteem. She works with diverse adults like college students, neurodiverse individuals, and BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ communities. At this time, she is particularly interested in working with anyone who identifies as asexual. Michelle became a counselor to empower others, and outside of therapy, Michelle is an artist, social justice advocate, and animal lover.
