H.E.L.P! I’m a People Pleaser! A Support Group Facilitated by Carrie Altermese-Suter, MHC-LP

This group will aim to provide a safe and supportive space where individuals can explore their challenging history with boundary-setting in different areas of their lives. Individuals will share and hear stories and receive validation while also receiving information and tools through psychoeducational means. Individuals will begin to understand what boundaries are and are not, identify obstacles to holding boundaries, and start learning how to create boundaries, putting them into practice in practical ways.

Moving Through Parenthood Group

Thursdays from 9:00-10:00am EST

Please join us in exploring this new role as a caregiver. The world has so many expectations surrounding parenthood and what it means to be a caregiver, our goal is to create a space to process all of the thoughts and feelings surrounding this transformative time to highlight the strengths and isolation that may come up.

This is a space to be present, free of judgements. Created by an emerging caregiver and psychotherapist, this group is created in support of caregivers in all forms of identity and role. The space is for anyone wanting to connect and gain deeper understanding within their relationships to self.  Participants will be guided through verbal and non-verbal processing to incorporate movement exploration with a Dance/Movement Therapist to support individuals who increase an overall body awareness and mind body connection within the self.

Anxiety Support Group

Let’s learn to express ourselves as clearly and directly as possible and not feel bad about it.

Participants will explore their current communication style and foster new ways to improve assertive communication. Participants will explore cultural factors, mental health, and intersectionalities influencing communication styles and behaviors. Group members will explore the impact of confidence on communication and the ways in which enhancing assertive behaviors and communication can reduce feelings of low self-esteem, depression, and anxiety.

Participants are encouraged to bring any drawing art medium you would like to use (e.g. pastels, colored pencils, markers, pencils, crayons, pens). Avoid slow-drying mediums, such as paints and watercolor because we’ll be sharing the work in session.
