Psychotherapist
Teresa (she/they) is a licensed social worker in New York state. She/they foster a caring, non-judgemental environment where you can be vulnerable, find strength, and make insights about your life. As a psychotherapist, Teresa uses her/their immigrant experience and third culture identity as foundations to her/their practice. Teresa uses her/their background in neuroscience and social work to engage with clients in adaptive ways, and this education has given her/them a broad, diverse perspective on mental health. Outside of psychotherapy, Teresa is an oldest daughter, flow artist, and DJ. She/they specialize in working with immigrants, third culture kids, people raised as daughters, and creatives.
Teresa uses an abolitionist framework that centers on restorative justice and harm reduction. As a social worker, Teresa believes in the power of social justice and human connection as key parts of therapeutic work. Teresa implements praxis in her/their daily and professional life, using cycles of theory, action, and reflection to inform their clinical and creative paths. As a mental health professional, Teresa works with you to make insights about challenges in your life and encourages you to move in ways — mentally, spiritually, and physically — that bring you closer to liberation.
