Michelle understands that people seek therapy during times of hardship or uncertainty and opening up can foster awkward feelings. Finding a professional who listens and understands is crucial to one’s healing. As a therapist, Michelle looks forward to immersing clients in the therapy experience, whether it is their first time or a resuming journey!

 

Michelle engages in a relational approach to therapy, while also integrating psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral skills in treating anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, conflicts regarding self-acceptance, and complex trauma. 

With training in crisis counseling and intervention, Michelle has experience with helping clients to regulate intense or stressful thoughts and emotions. Michelle has experience working with adults of many diverse backgrounds, including, neurodiverse individuals, the BIPOC community, and the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

 

Michelle received her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Brooklyn College. Throughout her education, she learned the importance of affirmative care and establishing a trusting connection with clients. She chose to be a mental health counselor in the hopes of empowering others and is excited to provide clients with a safe space to be themselves and reflect upon their personal growth.
