LEXIE THRASH (SHE/HER)

Psychotherapist in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY

Lexie Thrash

I am a compassionate, holistic, person-centered therapist who will work to meet you where you are, right now, at this moment. Together, we will develop a plan and a path forward in therapy that creatively addresses your needs.

As a dance/movement therapist, I believe in a body-first approach, meaning we will look to bodily-felt sensations and movement patterns as a starting point for understanding your thoughts and feelings. In tandem with verbal conversation, we may also integrate movement, breath-work and/or visual art into our sessions together.

I am unequivocally LGBTQIA+ affirming and intersectional in my approach. I work with folks of all ages, and have particular experience working with children, adolescents, families, and dyadically with parents and their children - in both individual and group therapy - with diagnoses including complex trauma, PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, and depression.

Seeking therapy can be a confusing, overwhelming and vulnerable task; I hope to walk with you on your journey, for as long as you may need.

I received my M.S. in Dance/Movement Therapy from Pratt Institute and dual B.A. degrees in Dance and in Media Arts & Design from James Madison University. Additional trainings include: Trauma-Focused CBT, Positive Parenting, DEI in the Workplace, 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, Restorative Yoga and Trauma-Informed Yoga.
