Katlyn Hershman (She/Her), MHC-LP

Katlyn works with individuals, couples, and families to explore their own authenticity, self-discovery, and personal growth. She focuses on change and expression of emotion, helping clients describe their feelings. With a compassionate and caring approach, she believes that the therapeutic relationship is integral to change. She aims to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can freely and authentically experience and express their emotions. She strives to create a space where clients can feel heard, validated, and empowered to explore their innermost thoughts and feelings.

Grounded in the psychodynamic approach, Katlyn helps her clients become aware of their interpersonal patterns based on their unique history. When conflicts arise between a client's thoughts, feelings, and actions, she helps them explore these discrepancies in a collaborative and supportive style. Her goal is to move clients from being stuck to being unstuck in their actions, helping them confront difficult realizations they may be unwilling to face on their own.

Katlyn was born in Brooklyn and was raised in Miami. She holds a Masters of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Pratt Institute.
