Psychotherapist in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY

Heather Huang (She/Her), CAT-LP

Heather is a compassionate Creative Arts Therapist, fluent in both Cantonese and English, with a dedication to helping individuals unlock their innate potential. She is committed to creating a therapeutic environment that fosters non-judgmental space, patience, and empathy, allowing her clients to explore and understand themselves more deeply. Utilizing a blend of integrative, humanistic, and person-centered approaches, Heather is a relational, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed art therapist. She helps clients externalize their internal world, especially when feelings are difficult to articulate in words. By combining art therapy with talk therapy, Heather supports clients in the creative process, their journey of self-awareness and self-discovery, empowering them to cultivate emotional resilience and take ownership of their own healing process.

Heather received a M.A. in Art Therapy from Pratt Institute and she has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in various settings, including schools, inpatient psychiatric care, and nursing home facility. As a first-generation Asian American, she is particularly attuned to the challenges of navigating cultural identity and strives to help others develop abilities to cope through a range of life stressors such as anxiety, depression, relationships, life transitions, grief, and identity.
