Psychotherapist
Jackie Bednar is a compassionate, empathetic and dedicated therapist. She received a MA in Counseling and Mental Health & Wellness from New York University. Jackie focuses on fostering a warm and non-judgmental environment, where individuals feel safe exploring their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Jackie believes each person has the innate capacity for growth, and self-discovery and recognizes the uniqueness of each individual. She works collaboratively with clients to identify their strengths, explore their values and goals, and to tailor therapeutic interventions to meet their specific needs. Jackie uses a person-centered approach with mindfulness and CBT techniques. As a clinician, her goal is to empower individuals to build stronger connections with their emotions, thoughts and bodily sensations to help foster self-acceptance. Jackie has worked with both adolescents and adults to engage with a variety of challenges, including: ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, life transitions, low self-esteem and depression. Jackie also has experience working with individuals with Autism, Dyslexia, and other neurodivergent identities from her time at Pratt Institute’s Disabilities Resource Center. Jackie particularly enjoys working with athletes seeking psychological guidance to navigate the pressures of competitive sports. She encourages clients to embark on a journey of healing and personal growth to obtain positive change and reliance and become the best version of themselves.
